Thanks to its name, the modern, handmade rug Linosa connects to the magical, Sicilian archipelago of the Pelagie islands. Available in three different sizes, when added to the décor, it turns into a woven island in which every knot represents the precious workmanship of linen, fashioned on a manual loom according to one of India’s oldest techniques. The workmanship and the delicate shades of colour in each rug are one of a kind. Exceptional amid the designer furnishings, this fine linen rug is handmade using a handloom and one of the oldest and most sophisticated weaving techniques in northern India. Being a product entirely handmade with natural materials, each individual rug is considered a unique piece: 2 or more rugs of the same size and/or colour, will inevitably present differences in size (tolerance) and/or shades of colour. Given the purely artisanal and manual workmanship, colour variations between the rugs are possible (tolerance), due to the process of dyeing natural fibres such as wool (mostly), and cotton. Such colour variations cannot be controlled during the manufacturing process. Composition: 80% linen warp and hand-knotting – 20% cotton weft.
