Since 1999 year of their conception by Vico Magistretti, the Cirene chairs travelled a lot and went far. In 2015, strenghtening the collaboration with architectural studio RPBW – Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the chairs arrived in the library of the iconic Withney Museum in New York showing off its features in a project characterised by a rigorous interior space. The library is located in the northern part of the glass and light building, together with the offices, training centre, restoration rooms and the innovative new theater. The Pritzker Prize project, now located between the High line and the Hudson river, lives again with that old industrial spirit of the area and offers to the modern and contemporary American art insitution not only the first theatre in the building, but also an open space gallery of 1700 square metres, all without columns. Such a honour for De Padova to be there!
