Jan Armgardt (Celle / Germany, 1947) Designer, studied Carpentry and Interior Design He opened his own design studio in 1974 in Schondorf am Amersee, the Jan Armgardt Design-Furniture and Conceptual Design Agency, however since 1967 he had founded some small companies to sell his own products directly (Beedesign, Workshopdesign, Armgardt Zerlegbare Möbel (Knocked Down Furniture). Winner of more than 40 international design awards for his projects, his activity is focused on research and development of design for the furniture industry, using cardboards, paper and recycled materials. He is also active in academia. From 2011 he is Mentor at the Indonesian Ministry of Industry and Trade to help developing furniture innovation centers (as the Innovation Centre Luchtenfels in Germany). Since 2013 he promotes the development of Indonesian vines with PUPUK Association for Avancement of Small Business.
